I started resonating with this phrase “Make a difference”, few years ago when I started reading about legendary folks like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King jr., Steve Job among others who revolutionised their world while in their element. There was a paradigm shift in my mindset and view about what it meant to live and express yourself and stand up for what you believe in no matter the cost, I understood that making a difference starts with me being myself and pursuing what I believe in regardless the consequences. It was in that spirit that I wrote the piece below as a reminder to be that voice of change in my world and in my time today.
Stand out and make the most of the age of your youth, now that you are full of strength and curiosity. Nelson Mandela once said “what counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived, it is what difference we have made in the lives of others that will determine the significance of the the life we lead” The likes of Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther king Jr, Steve jobs, did not only live in their time, they influenced their world and impacted their generation; indeed they left their marks in the sands of time.
Influence the world around you put a smile on someone else’s face, don’t just make life all about you. You breath and are alive today not for you alone but also for those in your world. Stand out today, be a beacon and a pillar to the world around you that’s your purpose and the destiny every living being shares.
Always remember this, you are made for another and another is made for you. So don’t be slothful cos your world needs you today. Madeline Bridges once said “there are loyal hearts, there spirits brave, there are souls that are pure and true; give the world the best you have and the best will come back to you”
SO STAND OUT AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
